Project Details:
Our team was responsible for the mechanical design and development of the enclosure for Netstar's flagship vehicle tracking device, the TRK2005. A waterproof enclosure solution was developed through the integration of an overmoulded TPE seal on the lid, providing reliable protection against moisture. The housing design was detailed to accommodate the existing connector specified by the client, ensuring full compatibility with established electrical interfaces and installation requirements.
To meet packaging and assembly constraints, the design incorporated a pre-assembly process whereby the connector and PCB are mounted to the lid prior to final enclosure assembly. This approach streamlined manufacturing, improved assembly robustness, and ensured accurate alignment of critical electrical components within the enclosure.
The resulting design delivers a durable, sealed, and production-ready housing suitable for the demanding operating conditions of a vehicle tracking device.
