Caredent Picnix Interdental Brush
Project Details:
Our team designed and developed a universal interdental brush handle for CareDent’s Picnix range, creating a single handle solution compatible with seven different brush sizes. The design process centred on creating an ergonomic handle that would provide users with improved control and accessibility when cleaning between teeth while being optimised for high-volume manufacture through injection moulding and overmoulding processes.
A key feature of the design is the integrated 360-degree rotating brush mechanism, allowing users to easily adjust the brush orientation and reach difficult areas throughout the mouth. The bi-material overmoulded handle combines a rigid structural core with a soft-touch, non-slip grip, providing enhanced comfort, control, and usability during cleaning. The design also incorporates a cap that can be fitted to extend the handle length.
The result is a durable, ergonomic, and highly manufacturable interdental brush system that supports multiple brush sizes within a single product platform. The Picnix range delivers effective cleaning performance and user comfort, helping users maintain better oral hygiene while reducing manufacturing complexity across the product family.
