Our team designed and developed the enclosure for the Blair Digital Bagpipe Tuner, delivering a robust and ergonomic housing that seamlessly integrates the product's electronic systems. The project focused on creating a compact, durable, and user-friendly device that provides highly accurate tuning for Highland bagpipes while supporting efficient manufacturing and assembly.

A key aspect of the project was the mechanical integration of the internal electronics. We designed the enclosure to securely house the PCB assemblies, display, controls, microphone, and external input connections while considering component placement, assembly efficiency, and long-term reliability. Careful attention was given to the overall product architecture to ensure the electronics and enclosure worked together as a cohesive, production-ready solution. The completed tuner features a large LCD display, dedicated tuning modes for chanters and drones, and high-resolution frequency measurement for precise tuning performance.

Following design completion, we produced functional prototypes to validate the design, confirm fit and assembly, and refine the product prior to manufacture. We then supported the transition into production, overseeing the manufacturing process to ensure the final products met the required quality standards and design specifications.

The result is a compact and reliable digital bagpipe tuner that combines precision electronic performance with a thoughtfully engineered enclosure. By delivering the mechanical design, electronic integration, prototyping, and manufacturing support, we helped bring a professional-grade tuning device to market that is trusted by both solo pipers and pipe bands.
